In the summer of 2010 I traveled for the first time to New York City. Before I left home I borrowed books about Central Park. Through novels and imagery I started to guide myself through a park I did not know in person. One of the books – A Description of the New York Central Park had etchings depicting a park from a different century. I started to collect graphite rubbings of my studio space, and through collages I made my own readings of these images.
